What we find on this album does not resemble the previous groundbreaking classics of the Byrds, for example, songs such as: Wild Mountain Thyme, John Riley, 5D, Eight Miles High, Change is Now, My Back Pages, Renaissance Fair, I Knew I'd Want You, Feel A Whole Lot Better, Turn Turn Turn, or niicurchaubilbulobs.petherronestdetigoodreleveamarmeo.infoinforine Man/5(76).

6. It’s not very different from Ballad of Easy Rider: the Byrds standard is met, but that’s it. As it is, the whole double album sounds of one piece, although it’s basically two different bands: First, the Byrds as a great live band with great old (and new: the swamp rock tribute „Lover of the Bayou“ turns out to be one of their best.

7. McGuinn's "Ballad Of Easy Rider", is 2 minutes of pure joy, with his acoustic guitar and lovely orchestration. "Fido", written by John York, is another great dog song, "Old Blue", was on "Dr. Byrds And Mr. Hyde", the year before, here Gene Parsons does a drum solo!

8. 6/16/07 - Since writing my review Amazon (surely in error) has replaced this CD's 27 track listing with a 20 track list containing different songs. The album I have is "The Byrds /The Very Best Of" -- same cover and title as pictured on this site. Mine is Columbia/Sony U.K. , 2. It's 27 track contents: (1) Mr. Tambourine Man/5().
